About Jimmy Damm Suess

Jimmy was born in Southern California to Ken and Joan Suess, from Iowa. Jimmy was raised in San Diego where he graduated from Serra High School in Tierrasanta in 1980. He was a typical California kid, which meant skateboarding, camping at the beach, and lots of it. You could always find Jimmy hanging out on the board walk; Rock-N-Roll 70's style, cruising the streets in hot rods, or at lots of parties, this all left no time for boredom. With hundreds of concerts, road trips, and groupies, life in the sun is nothing but fun. Jimmy Suess is the original skateboard partner of skateboarding great Dave Dunkan. Jimmy and Dave, with the help of the best local skaters created the T.R.T., a.k.a. Tierrisanta Rocker Team, which made Jimmy and Dave San Diego's "dogtown" boys.

The first skateboard ramp was built in front of Jimmy's house when the boys were in 9th grade, they called it The Wooden Wonder. Jimmy and Dave were also caught hopping the fence and skateboarding in the dark with flashlights in San Diego's first skateboard park on Home Avenue the night before it opened. .
